D&C 121:45

"The wind doesn't stop these two sisters! You can watch from the window if it's too windy we are ready to work!"

We had to shove our doors to even get out of the car and then we were goners, Susan passed us the hoes and we worked for approximately 3 minutes before the wind actually blew us away

Turns out Bear Valley winds CAN stop these two sisters hahaha

Something that has been on my mind is turning to Christ in EVERY thought. Sister Crook and I are always joking around and one day we said thank GOODNESS people don't hear all our thoughts, we'd be toasted for all our roasts. And then it HIT ME. CHRIST SEES ALL MY THOUGHTS. He knows when I am thinking about Him but He also knows when I'm not.

I've tried to catch my thoughts and ask myself "where is Christ?" And that question has been a game changer, it motivates me to think purer so that I can live purer. Our actions are a manifestation of our inner selves, and it all starts with our thoughts! "Let virtue garnish thy thoughts unceasingly."

It's rigorous to look to Christ in every thought, but it changes our lives. How can you better turn to Christ in every thought this week?

Don't stand behind me when I drive:)

Can't have ups without the downs!!

Down: every lesson on Tuesday fell through, all our knocks weren't interested and no phones were answered

Up: 3 back to back BOMB lessons, each of them outside on a bright and sunny day!

Down: we took our friend off date:(

Up: I LOVE the members of the Bear Valley Ward!! We had some needed gospel girl time with a mom of 4 boys, heard conversion stories and found a sweet lady who hasn't been in contact with the church in years and needed a listening ear

I'll let you decide up or down: hit Sister Crook with our car ahaha just a little love tap

Up (this one felt like a down for us hahah): Bishop asked us to sing so we prerecorded a song and it nearly killed us to watch it over zoom. As soon as church was over we grabbed our suitcases and dashed for the door BUT it opened many doors for us to talk with people:)

Whether it's an up or a down, we keep smiling! Each day brings a new adventure and opportunity to share what we love. The biggest up is that PEOPLE WANT TO SHARE THE GOSPEL and we get to be their hype squad!!! We cheer them on and thrive off their excitement. This is a great work that we all get to take part in:)

Dots ARE people!!

You know what terrifies me?? KNOCKING ON DOORS

You know what I prayed for?? That we could knock on doors during our #stayathomeorder

You know what our president allowed us to do?? KNOCK ON 15 DOORS A WEEK!!!

These knocks have been SO FUN AND SUCH A BLESSING! Our area book is full of "dots" that don't have numbers or never pick up their phone. But this week we got to put faces to these dots!! People DO exist here๐Ÿคง๐Ÿฅณ

I get little butterflies every time we pull up to a new door. A hundred "what if's" go through my mind but we just go for it- the expectation is we talk about Christ, gotta full send!!
My actions say full send but my mind always assumes the worst. I'm trying to retrain the brain- POSITIVE WHAT IFS! Think about how different our lives would be if we lived with the mindset of always expecting the best.

"We are called to succeed." This is a time for us to succeed! Our days are full of lil successes, we just keep chugging along with faith in Christ, no matter what happens.

Peep the SNOW

Unmute: THE WORST FEATURE. Not even the mute button can protect people from my booming voice. 2021 might be the year that I learn to have an inside voice

I'm hesitant to share what we did this week because it just sounds like too much fun, but we live by the phrase "work hard, play hard." Our circumstances certainly aren't ideal, our ward is spread out and where all the hermits come to live, but like President Nelson said, "the joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances of our lives and everything to do with the focus of our lives." Our focus is Christ! All the good and all the hard point us to Him.
How we get through the days that seem to never end:
  • Self affirmations "go self affirm yourself"
  • Jam to the 2021 Youth Music (STRAIGHT BOPS)
  • Power poses (thx @ Sister Sadie Eyre)
  • 23 prayers a day
Joseph Smith is the IT man right now, he is the focus of our studies as we begin this new year. Christ took Joseph in his weaknesses but Christ didn't leave him weak. Joseph's very nature changed as he learned to live a higher way. THAT IS THE GOAL. To learn to live in a higher way!!! Christ takes each of us in our weaknesses and changes us to become something more.
